Ollie Ollerton joins Publicis Groupe UK for World Mental Health Day

  • October 6, 2022

World Mental Health Day is on Monday 10th October, and the theme for WMD this year, set by the World Federation for Mental Health, is ‘make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority’. Mental health problems exist in our lives, families, workplaces and communities, impacting everyone and here at Publicis we are dedicated to treating this condition on a par with physical illness and providing support and kindness, in accordance with our Viva la Difference ethos.

To put this in practice, we invited Ollie Ollerton, star of Channel 4’s hit show SAS: Who Dares Win, and best-selling author of Break Point, to speak to us about overcoming challenges and the mental and physical tools to improve the way you think, react and ultimately perform.

As a veteran of the SAS, Matthew ‘Ollie’ Ollerton has faced more ‘break points’ than most of us – from high profile hostage rescue missions, counter terrorism missions as well as more personal mental health challenges.

He spoke to us about lessons learnt and how mental strength and physical power can lead to successful outcomes in the most challenging of situations. Ollie’s life has taught him that everyone has the capacity for incredible achievement, and when you’re at break point – that is when you find out who you really are.
