Publicis Groupe UK launches Boomerang UK

Publicis Groupe UK is launching Boomerang UK – bringing the Amsterdam-headquartered social first creative agency to the UK for the first time.
The new agency, Boomerang UK, will be based in Publicis Groupe UK’s Chancery Lane office, with a team including managing director Pauline Landa and executive creative director, Rico de Lange. Boomerang is the Netherlands’ largest social first creative agency, describing themselves as “street-smart and social by nature”.
Acquired by Publicis Groupe in 2021, the UK will be Boomerang’s first market entry outside The Netherlands.

Landa joined Boomerang in 2021 and has been head of account and project management. She was previously at Ogilvy in Amsterdam for five years, latterly running the Phillips global sponsorship business. She started her career at TBWA Neboko Downtown Amsterdam. She has won a multitude of awards at all the major industry awards including Cannes Lions, the Clios, Creative Circle Awards, The One Show, the International Influencer Marketing Awards as well as all the major Dutch creativity awards.
De Lange, executive creative director, is a multidisciplinary creative with 16 years’ experience. He was previously executive creative director for Boomerang in the Netherlands, after joining the agency in 2015. He has won a multitude of awards including several Cannes Lions, Effies, Lovies, Webby Awards, SAN Awards and The Best Social Media Awards. He started his career as a designer and art director for a below-the-line agency working for automotive brands including Mercedes-Benz. He remains Boomerang’s global executive creative director for Heineken International.
Landa and de Lange will be joined by associate creative director, Djajant Hanenberg and project management supervisor, Caroline Tenbult in London with other employees joining from the Amsterdam office later this year. Reporting to Clare Donald, Boomerang UK will be part of the Publicis Groupe UK production practice.
Founded by The in 2009, Boomerang specialises in social content, employing 200 people in The Netherlands. Its clients include Barilla, Heineken, ABN AMRO, Mentos, Unicef, Spotify and Beyond Meat.
